Using Data To Lead System Improvements
While each of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders 2015 is important for school leaders, of particular importance is Standard 10 – School Improvement, which focuses on the use of four basic types of data (demographic, student learning, perception, and school process) to guide school improvement. A unique and sometimes complex picture of a school system or individual school building emerges when all four categories of data are brought together for consideration. In this assignment, you will address the synthesis of school district data as a means for planning school improvement.

Directions:
Review Standard 10 of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders 2015.
Write a paper (1,250-1,500 words) in which you address the synthesis of school district data as a means for planning school improvement. Include the following in your paper:
- A discussion of the differences in the use of demographic, student learning, perception, and school process data by the governing board, school system leaders, school site leaders, and instructional staff to determine school improvement needs and opportunities.
- A discussion of the manner in which demographic, student learning, perception, and school process data is used collaboratively by the governing board, school system leaders, school site leaders, and instructional staff in prioritizing school improvement needs and opportunities.
- A discussion of how the prioritized needs and opportunities could be communicated to stakeholders including the governing board, staff, and community at large.
